Full Bloom is inspired by the West Australian desert when it is in full bloom through the months of August to October.
Some years the flowers go absolutely wild and a wander through the bush is like waltzing through a Baz Luhrmann film. Bright colours not normally synonymous with the Australian bush, scents that have been bottled up since the last year there was a big rain, flowers that have not followed the rule book of what physical form they should take and textures that would be more at home on a fierce reptile of the African continent.
I love that so many of the flowers and plants we observe in the landscape thrive following adverse conditions. Particularly fire and flood. Over throusands of years the harsh elements have shaped certain species to evolve and embrace the extremes of the climate that we call home.
Resilient. Sturdy. Robust. Words that come to mind when wandering through a splatter of desert flora.
